Bronson Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Bronson Commons in Mattawan, Michigan is being developed as the new home for Bronson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center currently in Lawton. Designed and engineered by Kingscott (architect of record) and Post Associates (design consultant), the 76,300 sq. ft. Center will be a state-of-the-art healing environment set in a 41.25-acre wooded site with a view of a pond. The 100-bed building and site is designed to LEED for Healthcare certification standards.
The heart of the Center is the cafe/dining area, which invites residents, families, and visitors to gather in an open light-filled “living room” to socialize and share a meal or just be together. A resident-centered outlook is reflected in private rooms for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care patients.
Key features of the single-story facility include:
- Extensive physical therapy center
- Ample natural light, views of natural areas, and low noise levels
- Residents have easy access to gardens and outdoor spaces
- Built-in efficiencies for clinical and maintenance staff
- Designed for expansion
